About The Position

The Facilities Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of retail facilities across various locations in the United States. This position is responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and plumbing issues, and ensuring all facility systems are functioning efficiently to support retail operations. The Facilities Technician will work closely with management and other team members to prioritize maintenance tasks and respond promptly to urgent repair needs, minimizing downtime and safety risks. This role requires a hands-on approach to maintaining the physical environment, including the use of various hand and power tools, and the ability to interpret technical instructions and blueprints. Ultimately, the Facilities Technician contributes to creating a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for both employees and customers, directly impacting the overall retail experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in facility maintenance or a related technical field.
  • Proficiency in plumbing and general maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices safely and effectively.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certification or vocational training in facility maintenance, plumbing, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working in the retail industry or a similar fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance software or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards relevant to retail facilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other facility systems to ensure optimal operation.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and plumbing issues using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Utilize measuring devices and technical documentation to accurately assess and complete maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain and organize tools, equipment, and maintenance records to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Collaborate with management to schedule maintenance activities that minimize disruption to retail operations.
  • Respond promptly to emergency repair requests to maintain safety and operational continuity.
  • Inspect facilities regularly to identify potential issues and recommend improvements or upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during maintenance activities.
