About The Position

Facilities Technician III Hypertherm Associates seeks a Facilities Technician III to join the team. The Facilities Technician plays a key role in maintaining and enhancing our Kent, WA buildings and grounds by performing a wide range of skilled tasks—including painting, carpentry, minor electrical work, and drywall repair. This role proactively identifies improvement opportunities, contributes to developing facility standards, and ensures our spaces are well‑maintained, safe, and aligned with the ongoing growth and operational needs of the business

Requirements

  • 5-9 years of experience in Infrastructure field
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Microsoft Office knowledge (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience reading and understanding blueprints
  • Skilled in project management

Nice To Haves

  • 5-9 years of experience in Carpentry and Building trade
  • Forklift/man lift operation
  • Experience with compressed air systems, mechanical and/or electrical machinery and an industrial environment

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and complete facility maintenance tasks, addressing urgent needs, performing preventive and predictive work, and documenting results and new work orders in the system.
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment and facility issues, identifying root causes, implementing corrective actions, and improving processes to reduce future unplanned work.
  • Support facility planning by assisting with asset assessments, budgeting, contracted services, and project scoping to ensure smooth operations.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to leadership through clear status updates, corrective‑action summaries, and infrastructure improvement suggestions; participate in on‑call coverage as needed.
  • Lead facility‑related projects by assessing requirements, defining scope, coordinating internal teams and vendors, and ensuring safe, high-quality, and sustainable solutions across sites.
  • Comply with NFPA 70 (Electrical), NFPA 101 (Life Safety), NFPA 25, NFPA 13 (Sprinkler/Fire Alarm), OSHA and environmental regulations, operations and maintenance programs and directives to prevent serious/fatal injury to self or other Associates
  • Collaborate with Vendor Partners to evaluate and implement solutions for workplace issues and improvements
  • Manages contracted work to meet schedule, cost, and quality and verifies effectiveness of implemented solutions
  • Develop, evaluate and refine process improvements
