About The Position

The Facilities Technician ensures safe and efficient operation of facility and production support systems by performing inspections, maintenance, repairs, and assisting with equipment installations. This role also maintains building and grounds, documents work, and supports safety and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of specialized field gained through specialized training equivalent to one year of college or trade school or equivalent experience of four to five years preferred.
  • In addition to the educational requirements, two to four years of experience in industrial and facility repair.
  • Must possess basic mechanical skills.
  • Must demonstrate ability to follow written and verbal instructions with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Computer Skills – Experience with Microsoft Office and products desirable.
  • Reasoning Ability – Ability to define problems, collect data, stablish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instruction in mathematical or diagram from and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Follows all Company policies regarding safety, quality and attendance.
  • Performs duties in a safe manner and reports all observed safety hazards to management.
  • Acts as a role model for Safety on shift.
  • Participates in safety programs by reporting Unsafe Conditions, Unsafe Acts and Close Calls; enters Near Miss data and Observations into Global Data Center Database (GDC)
  • Regularly inspects and maintains production support equipment including but not limited to, Material Handling System, Printers, and Facility Maintenance.
  • Assists with assembly, installation, disassembly, and demolition of production equipment and building support equipment as required for upgrades or new installations.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly work area; meets plant and department housekeeping standards.
  • May be assigned additional responsibilities as needed to maintain a clean and orderly work space.
  • Accurately records/documents detailed information regarding work performed.
  • Works with contractors as needed for maintenance or project work.
  • Maintains building and grounds.
  • Participate in employee driven teams and continuous improvement projects to address scrap, quality, safety or other production related issues.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.
