About The Position

The Facilities Supervisor supports the Facilities Manager by coordinating and overseeing maintenance operations to ensure equipment and facilities are properly maintained and functioning efficiently. This role supports a variety of tasks—including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC support—to ensure a safe, efficient, and reliable facility. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, routine inspections, and responding to urgent facility needs. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Basic mechanical and electrical competencies required.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with team members, management, and other departments.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to manage and track maintenance activities.
  • Ability to quickly identify and resolve issues with creativity and resourcefulness (Problem-solving).
  • Ability to work with vendors, contractors, and other service providers as needed.
  • Basic understanding of building construction and systems.
  • Familiarity with lock out/tag out (LOTO) procedures and mechanical safety.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and proactive maintenance practices.
  • Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.
  • Flexible scheduling, including on call responsibilities for facility emergencies.
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, lifting, climbing, pushing, or pulling.
  • Ability to reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl when necessary.
  • Comfortable working at elevated heights with fall protection.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
  • Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Nice To Haves

  • Degree or coursework in Industrial Maintenance Technology or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of facility maintenance experience preferred.
  • Previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems a plus.
  • Self starter with strong preventive maintenance instincts.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Facilities Manager with prioritizing repairs, acquiring parts, scheduling preventative maintenance, and assigning work orders.
  • Lead, supervise, and train the maintenance team, ensuring efficient and effective completion of tasks.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure regular upkeep of equipment and facilities.
  • Conduct inspections of equipment and facilities to identify maintenance needs and prioritize tasks.
  • Coordinate with other departments to schedule maintenance activities and minimize disruption to operations.
  • Train and mentor team members to improve their technical skills and knowledge.
  • Monitor inventory levels of maintenance supplies and equipment, order as needed to maintain min/max levels.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report on team performance to management.
  • Ensure and promote compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all maintenance activities.
  • Identifies parts to order for projects, work orders, preventative maintenance, and repair of equipment.
  • Assists with general office and shop initiatives as needed, helping to improve the business.
  • Works closely with other technicians in a team environment, offering technical advice, status information, and other help as needed.
  • Communicates effectively with project managers and teammates regarding issues of project scope and schedule.
  • Responsible for approving timecards in Kronos.
