About The Position

Facilities Supervisor Position Summary: Trillium is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor. This person is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and safety of buildings, grounds, and equipment. This role leads maintenance staff and vendors, ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and supports efficient facility operations through preventive maintenance and timely issue resolution.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school, associate/bachelor degree, or related certifications preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, or a related field
  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory or lead experience overseeing maintenance staff or contractors
  • Experience coordinating preventive maintenance programs and responding to corrective maintenance needs
  • Demonstrated experience managing vendors, service contracts, and outside contractors
  • Experience working with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general building systems
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or similar work order systems preferred
  • Experience working in compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards
  • Forklift and power equipment experience
  • Working knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life-safety systems
  • Knowledge of occupational safety standards, preventive maintenance practices, and applicable codes and regulations
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to train, coach, and evaluate staff performance
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and assign work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess situations, identify solutions, and make sound decisions
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and specifications
  • Proficiency in using computers, CMMS platforms, and standard office software for reporting and recordkeeping
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively with internal teams and external partners
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail
  • Physical ability to perform facility inspections and occasional hands-on work, including lifting, climbing, bending, and standing for extended periods
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations and participate in on-call or after-hours support as required

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, and schedule facilities and maintenance staff to ensure effective coverage and performance
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance for buildings, grounds, and equipment
  • Inspect facilities regularly to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and opportunities for improvement
  • Respond to and prioritize work orders and emergencies
  • Coordinate and manage outside contractors and service providers, including obtaining quotes and overseeing work quality
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to safety, building codes, and environmental standards
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and inventory
  • Ensure proper operation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life-safety systems
  • Support facility projects such as renovations, upgrades, and space planning initiatives
  • Promote a safe, clean, and functional environment for employees, visitors, and tenants
  • Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
