The Facilities Supervisor supports the Facilities Manager by coordinating and overseeing maintenance operations to ensure equipment and facilities are properly maintained and functioning efficiently. This role involves a variety of tasks including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC support to ensure a safe, efficient, and reliable facility. Key responsibilities include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, routine inspections, and responding to urgent facility needs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 years of facility maintenance experience
  • Basic mechanical and electrical competencies
  • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with team members, management, and other departments
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to manage and track maintenance activities
  • Ability to quickly identify and resolve issues with creativity and resourcefulness (Problem-solving)
  • Ability to work with vendors, contractors, and other service providers as needed
  • Basic understanding of building construction and systems
  • Familiarity with lock out/tag out (LOTO) procedures and mechanical safety
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and proactive maintenance practices
  • Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required
  • Flexible scheduling, including on call responsibilities for facility emergencies

Nice To Haves

  • Degree or coursework in Industrial Maintenance Technology or related field
  • Previous leadership experience
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Self starter with strong preventive maintenance instincts

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Facilities Manager with prioritizing repairs, acquiring parts, scheduling preventative maintenance, and assigning work orders
  • Lead, supervise, and train the maintenance team, ensuring efficient and effective completion of tasks
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure regular upkeep of equipment and facilities
  • Conduct inspections of equipment and facilities to identify maintenance needs and prioritize tasks
  • Coordinate with other departments to schedule maintenance activities and minimize disruption to operations
  • Train and mentor team members to improve their technical skills and knowledge
  • Monitor inventory levels of maintenance supplies and equipment, order as needed to maintain min/max levels
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report on team performance to management
  • Ensure and promote compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all maintenance activities
  • Identifies parts to order for projects, work orders, preventative maintenance, and repair of equipment
  • Assists with general office and shop initiatives as needed, helping to improve the business
  • Works closely with other technicians in a team environment, offering technical advice, status information, and other help as needed
  • Communicates effectively with project managers and teammates regarding issues of project scope and schedule
  • Responsible for approving timecards in Kronos
