The Facilities Specialist assists in maintaining, enhancing, and supporting the physical environment across all facilities and properties to ensure safety, efficiency, and a positive member and team member experience. This position takes a leadership initiative to resolve immediate building, grounds, and vehicle fleet issues, promptly and effectively helping to minimize operational disruptions and extend the life of credit union assets. On a daily basis, the Facilities Specialist maintains the general upkeep of all Credit Union buildings and grounds, performing minor repairs and maintenance, including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, drywall, and painting. The Facilities Specialist assists in the setup of Credit Union-sponsored events, meetings, and functions. They load and unload supply and equipment inventory and maintain storage space efficiency. This role supports the service mission of the Facilities Department by applying practical knowledge and experience in a responsive, service-oriented manner to support team members and organizational needs. Additional requirements: Must maintain a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record. Must be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and respond to emergency calls as needed, with the expectation that the employee will be available to report on-site in response to business demands.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the cleanliness, organization, and overall condition of buildings and grounds are consistently maintained to meet safety, appearance, and operational standards.
  • Proactively monitoring and addressing potential facilities issues or problems.
  • Maintaining a safe environment by conducting regular inspections, identifying potential hazards, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
  • Providing reliable and timely transport of mail, packages, meals, and other items and materials between locations.
  • Monitoring, ordering, and organizing supplies, equipment, and tools to support uninterrupted facility operations, maintaining accurate inventory and forecasting future needs.
  • Maintaining and keeping maintenance records on all credit union vehicles and ensuring they are in road-ready condition at all times.
  • Adhering to the credit union's motor safety standards and policy when operating a company vehicle.
  • Actively monitoring work order system and ensuring prompt attention is given to work order requests.
  • Enhancing expertise by actively pursuing development opportunities including but not limited to, attending conferences, acquiring certifications, completing learning courses in UKG and other relevant platforms, or engaging in both internal and external leadership programs.
