About The Position

Grand Canyon University! One of Arizona’s leading institutions of higher learning. Located in the Valley of Sun in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona, GCU is a regionally accredited, private, nondenominational Christian University. GCU Facilities manages and services all university-owned property. By the development and maintenance of the GCU campus and surrounding areas, the GCU Facilities team aims to support and ensure the accomplishment of the university’s mission. By working creatively and collaboratively, the Facilities team fulfills the needs of the university by successfully managing resources while delivering excellent customer service. Grand Canyon University is seeking a full time Facilities Service Center Specialist. The Facilities Service Center Specialist will aid in operational work processes to increase efficiencies for the university. This position provides support such as customer service, data processing, software-based work management systems and any other appropriate support functions across all Facilities Departments. Schedule: Mon-Fri 12pm-9pm

Requirements

  • High school diploma, General Education Degree (GED) or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated customer service experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Must pass pre-employment background investigation.
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University's Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Facility and Operations Management principles, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as front line customer service representative, primary telephone responder for general and emergency call-ins to department.
  • Answer, screen and route calls from students, employees, and contractors in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist students and employees with basic troubleshooting, ongoing issues, and aids regarding work management system.
  • Engage with customers, while actively listening, analyzing, and isolating issues over the phone.
  • Input and create work orders in the Integrated Work Management System (iWMS).
  • Record and updates work orders as necessary.
  • Upload data and supporting documents into iWMS; query data and creates scheduled reports.
  • Provide iWMS training for new and current users as necessary.
  • Monitor preventive maintenance schedules and O&M’s warranties.
  • Other duties as assigned.
