About The Position

PECNA is looking to fill the position of Facilities Operations Tech - Level 3. As a key member of the facilities operations team, you will leverage your technical expertise to troubleshoot, repair, and enhance critical systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving, strong technical skills, and a commitment to excellence in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or 2 years of prior experience in functional area
  • Minimum of 2 years of related work experience.
  • Basic knowledge and work experience in Utility Generation and Distribution (e.g. steam, water, air), Mechanical (e.g. HVAC, piping/plumbing, pneumatic) or Electrical (e.g. low or medium voltage, instrumentation, controls) systems in an industrial manufacturing facility environment.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and willingness to work on a team
  • Flexibility and a strong self-initiative are critical
  • Electrical Safety in the Workplace
  • Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English

Nice To Haves

  • Related Trade school/vocational graduate; 2 years of trade school or equivalent
  • 4+ years of related work experience.
  • Experience in mechanical engineering or construction management
  • Experience utilizing a scheduling software

  • PIT License
  • MEWP

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine rounds on mechanical and electrical systems, troubleshooting and repairs using standard equipment and hand tools with moderate supervision.
  • Conduct well-defined troubleshooting and repairs on facilities equipment with moderate supervision.
  • Serve as First Responder, moving rapidly to manufacturing areas that require operational support.
  • Assess utility outages and take corrective measures to restore service promptly.
  • Operate and maintain tools and equipment within the functional area to ensure continuous functionality and reliability.
  • Support the identification and resolution of recurring operational or equipment issues.
  • Recommend and assist with process and maintenance improvements to increase reliability, reduce downtime, and optimize performance.
  • Participate in data collection and analysis to improve operational efficiency and equipment reliability.
  • Train and mentor personnel at the same or lower level within the functional area.
  • Share technical knowledge and best practices to enhance team skillsets and promote consistent procedures.
  • Support team growth by providing guidance and coaching on equipment operation and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Work closely with vendors, contractors, tenants, and cross-functional teams to resolve operational issues and maintain smooth workflow.
  • Coordinate regularly with Engineering, Construction, and PECNA tenants to ensure alignment and compliance.
  • Communicate effectively regarding operational status, issues, and required actions to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Adhere to all company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards in all operational and maintenance activities.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in accordance with 6S principles.
  • Maintain equipment maintenance records, work orders, and CMMS documentation accurately.
  • Draft, approve, and follow Maintenance Operating Procedures (MOPs) and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
