About The Position

GoodLife Innovations is seeking Direct Support Professionals to provide care and companionship to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities! As a Direct Support Professional , you will support positive behaviors, teach communication skills, maintain health and hygiene, and encourage community engagement for the individuals we serve. Your days will be spent in family-style group homes, Day Service centers, and out in the community to assist with client goals and personal care needs.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age
Must pass criminal background check
Must have a valid driver's license and safe driving record (day positions only)
Ability to lift up to 50lbs to physically assist individuals
Flexibility in assigned working location based on client needs

Nice To Haves

Previous caregiving or direct support experience, ideally in a residential or therapeutic setting
Experience working with clients with aggressive or disruptive behaviors
Training in crisis intervention or de-escalation techniques

Responsibilities

Assisting or fully supporting with personal care needs (bathing, toileting, grooming)
Teaching and supporting daily living skills (cooking, cleaning, laundry)
Transporting clients in company van
Administering medications
Supporting clients at their Day Service programs and in the community
Charting/documenting data using computer system
