The Facilities Manager is responsible and accountable for the management of building systems, ground services, and related processes with emphasis on cost effectiveness and sustainability to support the core business of company and its employees. This position reports to the Director of Manufacturing and is part of the Manufacturing Operations located in Carlsbad CA, and will be an on-site role. In this role you will have the opportunity to: Facilities & Infrastructure Management: Oversee facilities systems, equipment, and environments to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant office and laboratory operations, including preventative maintenance and emergency response for critical systems (HVAC, compressors, wet labs, refrigeration, fire protection, and life‑safety systems). Operations, Security & Occupant Support: Manage daily building operations, site security (card access and security policies), alarms, after‑hours emergencies, and provide timely response to facility requests to support business continuity and occupant satisfaction. Team Leadership & Vendor Management: Lead and develop the facilities team through performance management and coaching; manage relationships with landlords, contractors, consultants, and service vendors to ensure accountability and service quality. Safety, EHS & Regulatory Compliance: Support EHS programs, safety committees, audits, and regulatory inspections; maintain required EHS documentation, and corrective actions in partnership with site leadership. Site Services & Logistics: Oversee janitorial services, waste removal, landscaping, material ordering, shipping, and receiving to ensure smooth and compliant site operations. Space Planning & Capital Projects: Coordinate office moves, and provide technical expertise and oversight for construction and renovation projects from design through execution, including consultant selection and schedule management. Financial & Contract Management: Own facilities budgeting, procurement, contract management, expense tracking, and reporting; drive cost‑reduction initiatives while managing design, construction, and operational budgets. The essential requirements of the job include: Facilities Leadership & Industry Experience: Several years of corporate facilities management experience, preferably within a biotech or regulated environment, with demonstrated supervisory or team leadership experience. Technical & Operational Expertise: Strong working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, construction, maintenance, and all facets of facility operations, with a solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations. Education & Professional Credentials: Bachelor’s degree preferred; Facilities Management certifications such as FMP or CFM strongly preferred. The annual salary range for this role is $91,500 - $130,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
