The Facilities Manager role implements, recommends, and manages capital projects.Schedules maintenance work and calculates and manages costs for parts, projects, and vendors. Manages the maintenance workforce. Reviews mechanics, schedules work, and helps develop and coordinate training. Schedules work for the Maintenance Department and oversees budgeting and cost control for facility repairs. Tracks and manages work orders, using them to monitor departmental productivity and expenses. Conducts employee performance reviews, provides coaching, and facilitates ongoing training. Participates in staff meetings and maintains effective communication across departments. Partners with the Safety Supervisor on facility audits, safety inspections, safety training, and overall site security. Coordinates with vendors for facility services including repairs, landscaping, roofing, cleaning, and pest control. Manages supervisors and staff in alignment with Helen of Troy policies, overseeing departmental direction, coordination, and performance. Responsible for hiring, onboarding, scheduling, assigning work, directing daily activities, and evaluating work quality. Requirements

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with solid presentation, teamwork, and project‑management abilities
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time‑management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access); typing speed of 40 WPM
  • Working knowledge of conveyor and Pick2Light systems, as well as capital projects and warehouse operations
  • Experience collaborating with vendors, landlords, and local/state authorities to support cost savings and operational needs
  • Skilled in office administration including filing, document control, data entry, telephone systems, faxing, and copying
  • Hands‑on experience in manual assembly, inspection, defect identification/correction, material handling, packing, and visual quality checks
  • Knowledge of handling chemicals such as solvents, gasoline, degreasers, flammables, and paints
  • Maintenance experience in painting, HVAC, plumbing, electrical work, welding, and general remodeling
  • Mechanical and technical knowledge including repairs, construction, PLC systems (Allen Bradley, Siemens), Cognex scanners, gauge control, calipers, schematics, grinding, soldering, and multimeter use
  • Familiarity with forklift operation, vendor coordination, and equipment repair oversight
  • Strong vendor management capabilities
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of experie nce
  • General knowledge of carpentry, electricity, HVAC, and plumbing.
  • Certified in OSHA programs and practices.
  • Must be knowledgeable in Safety Procedure and LOTO.
  • Great knowledge of CMMS systems and inventory management
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Nice To Haves

  • Previous supervisory/manager experience.
  • Autostore /DMS/ Robotics experience preferred
  • Dematic Experience preferred with VIS and Dematic Portal
