The Opportunity This position works out of our St. Paul, MN location in the Structural Heart division. Structural Heart Business Mission: Why We Exist Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life by designing and providing device and management solutions for treating structural heart disease. What You’ll Work On Develop, implement, and maintain facilities policies, procedures, and best practices. Oversee facilities planning activities across the site, including space allocation, relocations, and long-term infrastructure needs. Direct facilities construction, renovations, modifications, and ongoing maintenance activities through intermediate managers and external contractors. Hire, train, coach, and motivate facilities staff and third-party service providers while fostering a safe, professional, and inclusive work environment. Manage facilities assets, infrastructure, and preventive maintenance (PM) programs to ensure operational reliability. Ensure compliance with all equipment PM requirements, documentation, due dates, and audit-readiness standards. Serve as the site subject matter expert for facilities systems and infrastructure, acting as the primary point of contact for audits, inspections, and vendor engagements. Review, approve, and manage facilities-related contracts, vendor qualifications, and service agreements. Develop, manage, and monitor facilities budgets to ensure cost-effective operations. Oversee janitorial and pest control programs through third-party vendors. Support divisional and company-wide initiatives in alignment with Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), FDA regulations, and other regulatory requirements. Ensure compliance with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, company policies, operating procedures, and applicable regulatory standards. Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with employees at all levels, as well as customers, contractors, and vendors. Set clear goals aligned with departmental and company objectives and manage execution through coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field; Associate’s degree with equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 9–10+ years of progressive experience in facilities management.
  • 5–7+ years of supervisory or people-management experience, including leading diverse teams.
  • Broad knowledge of facilities maintenance with demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas: Electrical systems Plumbing and gas systems Pumps and piping Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) Millwright or pipefitting
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to set goals, provide constructive feedback, and drive accountability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills with a focus on execution and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work effectively across geographically diverse teams and stakeholder groups.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience supporting medical device manufacturing facilities is strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing facilities within a cross-functional, enterprise, or matrixed environment preferred.
