About The Position

The Manager, Facilities, provides efficient and uninterrupted operation of the entire physical plant and all relative operating equipment. Meets goals & objectives, and standards of work performance for the maintenance and repair of equipment, building and building systems. Ensures that contractual provisions and schedules are met and satisfies established standards of hospital and government regulations. Maintains all facilities in the hospital, clinics and off-campus buildings. Knowledge of blueprints and design used for construction and remodeling. Knowledge of all hospital facilities, including: Fire Alarm System, HVAC, Translogic Tube System, NEC 2400 Telephone System, Nurse Call System and Medical Waste Sterilizer. Responsible for fire prevention activities to include: fire drills, inspections and training. Maintains organization wide performance improvement activities relating to the environment of care. Professional growth and development in safety field. Safety and security networking. Able to work flexible hours to accommodate needs of organization

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field required or
  • Four (4) plus years of direct experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree required
  • 2-4 years of experience in closely related field with Bachelor's degree required
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and manage cross-functional relationships.
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with leadership, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively with others, delegate responsibilities, and independently manage tasks while meeting established deadlines.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • In depth knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory compliance (if applicable).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Google and Microsoft platforms, healthcare software systems, and data analysis tools.
  • CHSP-Certified Hospitality Sales Professional required

  • Master's Degree preferred
  • 2-4 years of previous leadership experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and mentors facilities maintenance staff, ensuring proper training, scheduling, and performance management. Foster a team-oriented environment and promote continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Oversees the day-to-day operation of the hospital, clinics, and off-campus buildings to ensure continuous, uninterrupted service of all physical plant operations. Ensure that all building systems and equipment are functioning properly and that maintenance activities are completed on schedule.
  • Ensures that all building systems (HVAC, Fire Alarm, Nurse Call, Translogic Tube System, Telephone System, etc.) are maintained according to manufacturer recommendations and regulatory standards. Coordinate and supervise repairs and upgrades to physical plant equipment and systems.
  • Leads fire prevention activities, including conducting regular fire drills, inspections, and staff training. Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and hospital policies. Oversee fire alarm and emergency systems testing and maintenance.
  • Utilizes knowledge of blueprints and design to review and assist with construction and remodeling projects. Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure that new builds or renovations meet facility needs and safety standards.
  • Coordinates and oversees construction and remodeling projects.
  • Coordinates departmental activities and responsibilities with other hospital departments and Medical Administrative Staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • Provides leadership, mentorship and professional development opportunities for departmental staff.
  • Schedules employees to ensure effective use of resources. Consults with Director on staffing issues.
  • Conducts performance evaluations, sets goals and provides feedback to staff on their performance and development.
  • Develops and manages departmental budget ensuring cost effective operations while maintaining high quality service.
  • Monitors expenditures, ensuring cost-effective delivery of services.
  • Evaluates and implements new technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Develops and implements departmental policies and procedures and protocols to optimize quality and overall efficiencies.
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant regulatory bodies. May oversee the accreditation process with relevant agencies ensuring that services meet or exceed industry standards.
  • Participates in audits, inspections and accreditation processes as applicable.
  • Follows established quality control practices to ensure accuracy, consistency and safety.
  • Works closely with leadership teams to coordinate and improve service delivery.
  • Stays up-to-date with industry advancements, new technologies, and regulatory changes.
  • May work in a staff role, when required. Ensures that duties and responsibilities are fulfilled while meeting all competencies established for that job.
