About The Position

Perched sixty stories above Lower Manhattan, Manhatta serves seasonal, inspired cooking, and offers stunning views of New York City, its bridges, and waterways. Manhatta is a restaurant and full-service event space from Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group, combining sky-high views with down-to-earth hospitality. The Facilities Manager will drive best practices for sustaining a safe and well-maintained restaurant. This position ensures all maintenance and capital improvement tasks are of high quality and timely execution by working directly with Facilities Vendor Partners. The Facilities Manager will routinely interface directly with operational staff to understand priorities, and plan for immediate and future needs. The Facilities Manager will spend the majority of their time at the restaurant, with limited time in office only as needed.

Requirements

2-3 years of Facilities Management experience or equivalent construction project management/trade experience. Previous experience in trades such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical or handywork is preferred.
Ability to lift 50 lb and work in tight places.
Ability to perform light maintenance repairs
Computer knowledge/ Microsoft Office
Diplomatic communication skills with a high level of integrity
Proficient knowledge of systems and processes in operations
Ability to demonstrate discretion and leadership in complex employee relations matters
Ability to embody, teach, and inspire our USHG Beliefs

Nice To Haves

Prior management experience is a plus.  Must excel at all points of management:  Planning, Organizing, Directing, and Controlling.

Responsibilities

Consistently support a culture of Enlightened Hospitality
Own the overall condition, safety, and functionality of the restaurant's physical space, back of house, and infrastructure
Lead routine maintenance and repairs with a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach
Anticipate needs through regular walkthroughs, addressing issues before they become emergencies
Build, manage, and execute preventive maintenance plans to protect equipment, systems, and the guest experience
Ensure ongoing readiness and compliance with all local and city agencies (DOH, FDNY, DOB, DEP, etc.), supporting inspections and audits with confidence
Serve as the primary partner to facilitate vendors, overseeing repairs and capital projects from scoping through completion
Collaborate closely with the Operations and Culinary teams to prioritize work, minimize disruption, and support seamless service
Provide structure, standards, and oversight for internal facilities support while fostering strong relationships across the restaurant
Champion a proactive, preventive maintenance mindset that safeguards our spaces today and for the long term
