About The Position

Merrell Bros., Inc. is seeking a highly motivated, hands-on Facilities Manager to lead and take ownership of the cleanliness, maintenance, and overall appearance of our facilities. This role is responsible for managing a team of 8–12 employees while ensuring our sites consistently reflect a world-class standard. The ideal candidate is a servant-minded leader who invests in their people, leads from the front, and builds a culture of accountability, pride, and continuous improvement. This role requires someone who sets the tone daily through their actions, not just direction.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical or trade background preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in facilities, maintenance, or industrial environments
  • Prior experience leading or supervising a team required
  • Experience operating equipment such as mowers, skid steers, plow trucks, pressure washers, or similar
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus)
  • Servant leadership mindset with a focus on developing people and building strong teams
  • Meticulous attention to detail—nothing gets overlooked
  • Strong ability to coach, hold accountability, and build trust with team members
  • Hands-on leadership style with a strong work ethic
  • Self-starter who identifies problems and takes immediate action

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of 8–12 employees across janitorial, maintenance, and grounds functions
  • Serve as a working manager, actively working alongside the team to set expectations and ensure execution at the highest level
  • Lead by example through hands-on participation in daily tasks, reinforcing a culture of ownership, pride, and accountability
  • Build strong relationships with team members, understanding their strengths and helping them grow and succeed
  • Set clear expectations and provide consistent coaching, feedback, and accountability
  • Create and maintain a culture where standards are clear, performance is measured, and excellence is expected
  • Remove obstacles and ensure the team has the tools, training, and support needed to be successful
  • Oversee all janitorial operations to maintain clean, organized, and professional shop, office, and yard environments
  • Manage building and facility maintenance, including preventative maintenance and timely repairs
  • Supervise detail shop wash bay operations, ensuring equipment, vehicles, and workspaces meet company standards
  • Direct grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, and weed control across all properties
  • Lead snow removal and plowing operations to ensure safe and accessible facilities during winter conditions
  • Conduct routine inspections and proactively address cleanliness, maintenance, and safety issues
  • Manage inventory and ordering of supplies, ensuring materials are always stocked and organized
  • Enforce and promote safety standards and company expectations at all times
