About The Position

The Facilities Manager works as a management team member and leadership team, overseeing all aspects of building functions and guaranteeing the safety of all facilities for our staff, clients, and dogs. This position exhibits high multitasking and organizational abilities, optimizing the use of space and maintaining operating costs. Duties of this role include routine safety inspections and compliance at all times, record maintenance, facility and vehicle maintenance, vendor management, and repairs management.

Requirements

  • Previous Experience - 3 plus years preferred
  • Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience with drywall repair, basic plumbing, and basic electrical work
  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools
  • Strong problem-solving and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel between locations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Results-driven and solutions-oriented problem-solving
  • Ability to sense urgency in issues that arise
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills
  • Great leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Experience planning and maintaining facility budgets
  • Contract handling experience
  • Advanced mechanical and plumbing skills
  • Knowledge of HVAC and other building systems
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and do other labor-intensive tasks
  • Comfortable working within close proximity to dogs
  • Travel between locations as needed during scheduled work hours

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM) credential, or equivalent, is a huge plus

Responsibilities

  • Live out and be a positive advocate for Downtown Dog Lounge’s safety culture
  • Plan and coordinate all installations (telecommunications, heat, electricity, etc.) and refurbishments
  • Monitor interior and exterior areas of buildings for cleanliness and general conservation
  • Comply with all health, and safety policies and procedures
  • Keep the company in compliance with Osha and LNI laws.
  • Work with the government and other authorities on all inspections to ensure that the company is always compliant and up-to-date
  • Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards
  • Inspect buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations
  • Run routine maintenance inspections on equipment as needed
  • Control activities like parking space allocation, waste disposal, building security, etc
  • Schedule outsourced repairs as needed
  • Maintain the company vehicles: Land Rover and a work van, which this role would have access to during business hours
  • Perform routine and corrective maintenance across all assigned locations
  • Repair drywall, patching, painting, and general finish work
  • Perform basic plumbing repairs (leaks, fixtures, clogs, toilets, sinks)
  • Perform basic electrical work (outlets, switches, lighting, troubleshooting)
  • Repair and maintain gates, doors, locks, fencing, and hardware
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and costly repairs
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and urgent facility issues
  • Support with IT-related projects with guidance from BeInventiv (IT Team) or Leadership Team
  • Prepare and implement project budgets and timeframes
  • Manage insurance plans and service contracts
  • Negotiate optimal pricing and create a vendor and maintenance list for the company
