About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance is responsible, under general supervision, for performing duties to maintain and repair all facility lighting, water lines, painting, insulation repairs, pressure washing & upkeep of the internal and external areas of the building. Additional responsibilities will include minor floor repairs, basic repair of the dock doors including roller, track, and seal repairs. The Facilities Maintenance works from daily job assignments and instructions. This role does not have direct reports.

Requirements

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required
1 year experience in building maintenance and forklift, preferred.
2 years of experience in plumbing and basic electrical, strongly preferred.
Experience within a food processing, bottling, liquid filling/blending and/or consumer goods manufacturing/packing environment preferred.
Experience with drill press, grinders, hand power tools, forklift, and a variety of hand tools.
Knowledge and skills in plumbing, and basic electricity strongly preferred.
Ability to organize and prioritize task to ensure accuracy and timely completion.
Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new job-related software.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy required.
Effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Must be respectful and work well with all levels of personnel.
Must be able to perform on-call duty on any shift and work overtime on short notice basis. Long-term, temporary assignments to any shift may be required to maintain manufacturing processes.
Ability to work in high temperatures (hot or cold), working at heights and exposure to strong smells, dust, gases, fumes and chemical or require personal protective equipment.
Duties are performed with some exposure to noise, lubricants and chemicals.
May also work in areas that are confined, dusty and dirty or require personal protective equipment.
Ability to use Personal Protective Equipment.
Must be able to see, sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, reach, bend, twist, ascend/ descend.
Ability to pull, push, lift and carry up to 50 lbs., 50+ lbs. with assistance.

Responsibilities

Perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Mizkan America safety policies, OSHA regulations, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and SOP (Standard Operating Procedures).
Knowledge of 110, 220, and 480 voltages and control.
Ability to rebuild pumps and replace seals.
Fabricate and weld mild steel through stainless Steel.
The ability to change motors and wire them up to 110, through 480, 3 phase.
Painting of boundary lines, walls, and external areas of the building.
Repair and/ or replacement of lighting and light bulbs.
Perform minor floor repairs with Tufco floor patch kits and quick set epoxy.
Will conduct water leak repairs and piping replacements of plant water lines.
Perform regular checks and basic repairs of dock doors (seal replacement, hinges, and rollers)
Operates and maintains wastewater treatment, tends pumps, collects samples and makes routine chemical analyses of wastewater following DEC guidelines.
Perform regular checks and inspections of the building to include but not limited to as sprinkler systems, lighting (external and internal), floors, roofs, gutters, exhaust fans and replacement of filters as required.
Work closely with maintenance personnel, service technicians, and production personnel on building/floor repairs.
Follow all safety rules to include but not limited to LOTO and keep area clean and in orderly condition.
Responsible for food product quality and safety.
