About The Position

The Maintenance Technician will perform routine maintenance and repair procedures, including inspections, across AutoNation facilities within the Dallas–Fort Worth Market area. The Maintenance Technician will also perform a variety of skilled duties in the building trades such as carpentry, painting, minor electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other related crafts to maintain and repair facilities. This position also includes oversight of vendor work to ensure repairs are completed with quality and timeliness. Who Would I Interact With? In this role, you will partner directly with Store, Regional, and corporate management. You will also represent AutoNation to outside vendors, contractors, and governmental inspectors and officials.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-5 years of hands-on trade experience in a maintenance or repair role
  • Strong knowledge of building trade practices, terminology, and safety precautions
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a safe driving record
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including extended hours, overnights, and weekends as needed
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, sitting, reaching, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting, carrying, climbing, or balancing
  • Must be able to work with tools, materials, and equipment daily as part of routine maintenance and repair tasks

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily inspections of properties and buildings to ensure safe, efficient, and visually consistent operations—including mechanical systems, furniture and fixtures, roofing, landscaping, paint, life safety, and security
  • Perform repairs, maintenance, installations, and construction work in building trades such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, mechanical, minor electrical, roofing, and HVAC
  • Conduct inspections and complete necessary repairs and maintenance required by OEM franchise program guidelines
  • Develop scopes of work for vendor repairs and maintenance, coordinate with store management for timely completion, and perform quality control checks on all completed work
  • Operate light machinery and tools as required to perform maintenance and repair duties
  • Serve as the primary first responder (24/7) for emergency situations at assigned stores and facilities, including mechanical failures, environmental hazards, and natural disasters
  • Input, manage, and close work orders through the AutoNation digital work order system, including uploading photos and documentation of completed work
