About The Position

Penske Automotive Group is looking for a motivated and hard-working Entry-Level Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team in our Southern California market. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven and energetic individual to maintain facilities for multiple automotive dealership locations in San Diego and Escondido. Candidates will be responsible for the upkeep of HVAC, mechanical systems, automotive repair equipment, electrical, plumbing, finishes, and general preventative maintenance, as well as life safety systems and processes. You must have a desire to produce results and take the initiative, as well as the ability to work well in a team and independently to achieve productivity expectations. The Entry-Level Facilities Maintenance Technician must possess skills to ensure all maintenance activities are seamlessly completed. Eligible candidates must have experience in a facilities or maintenance capacity. Hospitality or other industry experience will be considered! Pay for this position is $23-$25 per hour, pending experience and qualifications.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in General Facilities disciplines, including HVAC, electrical/lighting/LED, mechanical systems, automotive service equipment, life safety systems, upkeep of finishes, painting, and preventative maintenance.
  • Ability to multitask and produce results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to meet time-sensitive goals and ensure team production.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Ability to establish personal performance goals that are consistent with the organizations standards of productivity and devise a strategy to meet those goals
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to process data and organize it for management analysis
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables
  • Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to use independent judgement and discretion to accomplish departmental and organizational goals
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages
  • Ability to interact with a diverse group of people and be a positive influence on employee morale throughout the organization
  • High School graduate. Previous maintenance experience. Strong ability for on the job training. General Construction background desired.
  • Must be certified in both Electrical and HVAC repair
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Certification of taking a 20 Hour OSHA class
  • Fork Lift certification
  • Aerial Lift Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree or equivalent; and three to five year's related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Automotive dealership facility experience.
  • Electrical and electronic principles.
  • Blueprint and electrical schematic reading.
