About The Position

The Facility's Department mission is to provide high-quality maintenance and repair for a safe, clean, productive and well-maintained physical environment for Eagle County Government buildings, grounds, and fairgrounds. Eagle County Government is looking to fill one position and is willing to consider applicants of levels III, IV, and V. The Maintenance Technician will perform various maintenance duties to efficiently operate the county's facilities and grounds, and keep them in proper repair, clean and safe for public use. For Maintenance Tech IV and V, the role involves performing various mechanical maintenance and repair duties to efficiently operate the county’s facilities and grounds and keep them in proper repair and safe for public use. Maintenance Tech IV serves as back-up for the Lead Mechanical Technician for computerized and mechanical BAC control, which includes monitoring, establishing solutions, and repairing HVAC systems for all county facilities. Maintenance Tech V serves as lead for HVAC technician for computerized and mechanical BAC control that includes monitoring, establishing solutions and repairing HVAC systems for all county facilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum three years of experience (prior maintenance/construction experience counts towards the overall experience qualification) for Maintenance Tech III.
  • Ability to work on own with minimal direction and supervision.
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License with a satisfactory motor vehicle record (required for Maintenance Tech IV and V).
  • Completed BOC Level 1 Training (new hires can complete within their first year of employment).
  • Completed Safety Training (new hires can complete within their first year of employment).
  • Completed Equipment Operator Training (new hires can complete within their first year of employment).
  • Completed two of the four following EC training courses: Transition into Leadership, Navigating Critical Conversations, Creating Exceptional Customer Experiences, or Communication Skills in the Workplace (new hires can complete within their first year of employment).
  • Minimum five years maintenance or construction experience; or, any combination of education and experience which produces the required knowledge, skills, and abilities (for Maintenance Tech IV and V).
  • Skilled trades position (HVAC, plumbing, electrical experience/duties, but no license) for Maintenance Tech IV.
  • Licensed Journeyman in either Plumbing, Electrical or equivalent certification in HVAC for Maintenance Tech V.

Nice To Haves

  • A valid state driver’s license and a satisfactory motor vehicle record (preferred for Maintenance Tech III).

Responsibilities
