About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial equipment and facility systems, with an emphasis on electrical components. This role operates in a heavy industrial environment and requires hands-on mechanical and electrical skills, strong troubleshooting abilities, and strict adherence to safety protocols. The ideal candidate is a versatile maintenance professional with industrial experience and foundational electrical knowledge, capable of supporting operations across multiple systems and equipment types.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school or trade certification preferred
  • 2+ years of industrial or commercial maintenance experience
  • Basic electrical knowledge including wiring, circuits, motors, and control panels
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and blueprints
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check
  • Must have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license throughout employment
  • Must possess a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card or be able to obtain one upon hire
  • Flexibility to work outside of regular hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations (24x7 availability as needed)
  • Ability to travel locally between job sites
  • Required to carry a company-issued cellular phone
  • Mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and fall protection gear
  • Ability to perform extensive physical activities including walking, standing, lifting, bending, kneeling, squatting, pushing, pulling, reaching, crawling, and climbing
  • Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, on ladders, rooftops, and elevated platforms
  • Exposure to industrial hazards including moving machinery, high voltage, hazardous chemicals, fumes, and stored energy sources
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools (e.g., drills, saws, welders, cutting torches, etc.)
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures and adverse weather conditions
  • Ability to operate communication devices such as a 2-way radio
  • May be required to administer basic first aid and operate emergency equipment such as fire extinguishers

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment, machinery, and facility systems, including electrical circuits, motors, and control panels
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, including power outages, short circuits, and equipment malfunctions
  • Assist with electrical installations, wiring repairs, and component replacement under supervision or according to instructions
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to complete maintenance and repairs accurately
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe and organized condition
  • Follow all OSHA regulations, site safety standards, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests and provide on-call support as needed
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to improve equipment performance and reliability
