About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment, machinery, and facilities critical to aerospace manufacturing operations. This role ensures optimal performance of production systems while adhering to strict safety, quality, and compliance standards, including AS9100 and FAA regulations where applicable.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; technical/vocational training in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (aerospace preferred).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience with CNC machinery, PLCs, and automated systems.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Familiarity with CMMS software and maintenance documentation practices.
  • Working knowledge of safety practices and compliance regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an AS9100- or ISO 9001-certified manufacturing facility.
  • Certifications in electrical, HVAC, welding, or related trades.
  • OSHA 10/30-hour certification or similar safety training.
  • Forklift, scissor lift, or crane operation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance on CNC machines, water jets, laser cutting machines, composite curing ovens, hydraulic systems, vacuum systems, and other aerospace-specific equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues in production equipment.
  • Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance in accordance with internal PM plans and OEM specifications.
  • Install, modify, and repair production infrastructure including electrical circuits, air and water lines, and control systems.
  • Support calibration activities for critical production tools and gauges.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to minimize downtime and ensure equipment readiness.
  • Follow all facility safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and hazardous material handling requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant aerospace industry standards including AS9100, OSHA, EPA, and internal quality systems.
  • Recommend improvements to maintenance procedures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., 5S, lean manufacturing).
  • Participate in root cause analysis for equipment failures and support corrective and preventive action processes.
