About The Position

The Facilities Manager and Technician is our unsung hero behind the flawless look and feel of our stores in the Los Angeles area, while coordinating corrective repairs in other nearby markets. You’ll perform essential repairs and maintenance, using your expertise in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry to uphold our high brand standards for safety, functionality, and aesthetics. Reporting to the company leadership, you’ll collaborate with the Real Estate, Construction, Design, and Operations teams to ensure optimal operational efficiency and technical performance, creating a sophisticated, fun, and welcoming environment for our clients.

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail is a must, with constant follow-up on open projects and repairs.
  • Willingness to learn, understand, and communicate effectively our brand standards as applied to our physical stores.
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator with interpersonal skills.
  • Proven experience as a lead maintenance manager, coupled with proficiency in hand and electrical tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and finish schedules.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
  • Good physical stamina and dexterity.
  • Competent in using technology: management software, Gmail, and Google Docs.

Responsibilities

  • Track new and open work orders in our management system (currently OpenWrench) to evaluate fixes for reactive work orders, execute standardized procedures for timely response/completion of repairs, approve costs and document all activities and completions.
  • Maintain and repair facilities, fixtures & equipment using multiple craft skills (plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry) with hand tools, power tools, and other equipment.
  • Consistently survey salons and perform repairs to ensure they meet our brand standards.
  • Perform maintenance of MEP systems, such as replacing light bulbs and HVAC filters.
  • Conduct general upkeep procedures and other tasks as assigned, including painting and carpentry.
  • Promptly respond to emergency maintenance calls.
  • Inspect, operate, or test equipment, systems, or fixtures to diagnose and identify issues.
  • Coordinate with specialized subcontractors for repairs beyond individual capabilities.
  • Assist and support the Facilities Team in troubleshooting and resolving issues across technical platforms like access control, security cameras, internet, phones, and computers.
  • Maintain communication and approvals with the operations team, landlords, and company leadership.
  • Complete all required training to safely operate equipment and tools.
