About The Position

The individual will be a capable hands-on facilities technician with the responsibility to provide leadership and support for mechanical or electrical specialist. This person will lead the facilicties specialist, delegate and organize work orders though JTI work order managment system, and will create purchasing request in SAP on behalf of the Engineering Department. Individual will report to and receive primary guidance/instructions from the Building and Utilities Manager.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree with a mechanical or electrical focus, or High School Diploma/GED with 3 years of mechanical or electrical hands on experience in an industrial environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years mechanical or electrician experience in a mqanufacturing environment preferred but will consider individuals new to work force with mechanical or electrical degree.
  • Articulate in English with good communication and written skills when dealing with individuals.
  • Self-motivated, ability to work in a team environment, proficient computer skills with knowledge, open-minded, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and Provide mechanical or electrical maintenance support to facilities specialist, both preventative and corrective, for all facilities (repairs of bathrooms, lighting, doors, roof cleaning, painting, HVAC (preventative, filters, etc.) upon Manager’s request. Create and delegate Maintenance Workorders in SAP Maintenance tracking system, verify when workorder task assigned have been completed and monitor quality of workmenship (document hrs. parts and corrective action).
  • Provide mechanical or electrical support to the RMC production at the time of breakdown requiring emergency corrective actions to ensure the resumption of operations in a timely manner. Be responsible for proper and efficient operation of Facility equipment - Air compressors (ensure daily checks if air compressors are completed and documented properly with no issues), boilers (daily safety checks), bag houses de-dusting systems (record pressure readings and document for unannounced audits), HVAC. Report all issues to the manager and lead repairs under the direction of the manager. In the event of emergency breakdown, collaborate with Maintenance, Processing, Quality and EHS teams to ensure facility processing equipment is functioning properly and efficiently to support the achievement of meeting customer targets.
  • Ensure stable electrical, hot water supply, compressed air, natural gas, conditioned air supply for production, warehouses and administration buildings; Improve energy consumption and safety in area of responsibility; Ensure proper record keeping, analyze and report energy consumption. Operate and Improve Building management system (BMS) with necessary data collection
  • Work with contractors to onboard, complete safety inductions and ensure all contractors working onsite are following JTI safety policy and procedures.
  • Substitute Facilities Maintenance Specialists during the Absence (vacation, sick days) in order to support production. Attend trainings, lead and assist with IWS activities and implementation for the facilities team.
  • Comply with all EHS standards i.e. labor safety, fire protection, environmental and hygienic company rules, equipment safety, etc. Ensure the usage of the correct PPE when completing assigned tasks, reinstall equipment safety guarding after completion of work, the correct tools are being utilized to complete task, tools are clean, properly stored and inspected before and after usage to verify safety compliance. Monitor colleagues, contractors and visitors working at processing facility and provide feedback to the individual or a manager when unsafe actions are being performed, if proper PPE is not being utilized or additional safety measures need to be investigated.Control and ensure specialist are performing safety inspections of forklifts, stairs and ladders, fire extingishers, ect... (repairs, maintenance, parts, inventory). Keep Storm drains ponds clean, check monthly.
  • Recruit, motivate and guide the professional development of the team reporting directly and indirectly to the incumbent.
  • Manage various tasks and projects as they arise and upon manager’s request.
