The Facilities Lead Mechanic performs facility maintenance duties at assigned facilities. Provides guidance, instruction, direction to assigned group of facilities technicians. Responsible for task assignment and ensuring technicians have proper tools and materials to complete tasks and safety huddles. Advises facilities supervisor/manager of any issues pertaining to operation of infrastructure. Assist with all aspects of facility maintenance. Position Responsibilities: Respond to maintenance issues and breakdowns in a professional and timely manner. (Reactive Maintenance) Evaluate, maintain and modify facility related maintenance issues to resolve potential interruption of service/production. Perform preventative maintenance duties as assigned. Assist with all aspects of new equipment installation. Read and interpret mechanical drawings, construction drawings, machine manuals, electrical blueprints/electrical schematics required. Ensure equipment adheres to all applicable safety requirements. Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of systems. Perform repairs/maintenance of facilities assigned vehicles and equipment. Maintain accurate service records on all vehicles and equipment. Assist as needed with in-field repairs and maintenance. Coordinate and communicate status task assignments during and between shift changes with leadership and team. Maintain accurate and complete records. Maintain the company’s inventory of general hardware, supplies, tools, and parts for facilities vehicles and equipment. Manage the ordering process of supplies of parts for routine maintenance and special repairs on facilities vehicles and equipment. Perform duties safely, effectively and efficiently while maintaining a safe and clean work environment which complies with procedures, rules and regulations. Nature and Scope: Takes direction from facilities supervisor/manager. Provides guidance/direction to team members. Follows through on assigned tasks to completion. Knowledge and Skills: Proficient in basic construction, wiring, plumbing, basic electrical maintenance, equipment maintenance, pneumatics and technical work. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, construction drawings, machine manuals, electrical blueprints/electrical schematics required. Ability to use various tools and equipment and capable of accurately using measuring instruments. Working knowledge of electrical circuits including 24 v. controls, 120-240v & 208-480v, single and three phase service. Capable of using programmable logic controllers to troubleshoot and repair equipment. Technical skills with Industrial wiring, PLC s, basic mechanical skills and HVAC – preferred. Ability to safely operate industrial equipment; lift trucks / pickers; in house training and certification required. Effective troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Good computer skills – Excel, Outlook - E-Mail, Word, Data entry – required. MS Project is a plus. Effective communication skills – verbal and written. Ability to read and or understand written and verbal policy, instructions and directions in English. Ability to use good judgement and strong work ethics and integrity on the job. Ability to comply with policies and procedures including safety and skilled in LOTO (lock out tag out). Ability to provide direction, guidance and training with team members. Ability to use good judgement and strong work ethics and integrity on the job. Strong team player, results orientated, dedication to excellence and sense of urgency to achieve business objectives. Experience: Minimum 5 years industrial facility maintenance experience required. Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Associate's degree in mechanical field or graduation from a trade school, preferred.
