About The Position

Join our team as a Facilities Maintenance Lead and take ownership of facilities operations at our Florham Park campus— a space that includes offices, labs, a model shop, and a café. In this role, you will roll up your sleeves to perform hands-on maintenance tasks while overseeing building systems to ensure a safe, efficient, and innovative work environment. This is a hands on role supporting our facilities on site.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on technical abilities in HVAC and general building maintenance
  • Experience operating and maintaining building systems and handling both daily maintenance and system oversight
  • Strong communication skills for working with internal teams, lab personnel, and external vendors
  • 5+ years of facility maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory capacity
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future

Nice To Haves

  • Trade or industry certifications such as Black Seal a plus
  • Experience working in mixed-use environments (office, lab, shop, or food service areas).
  • Experience with being on-site first responder to employee emergencies while waiting for EMS

Responsibilities

  • Facilities & Equipment Maintenance (Hands-On)
  • Respond to wide range of hands-on tasks and general building upkeep in a timely manner
  • Conduct inspections & maintenance of building systems, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Building Systems / Automation & Innovation
  • Operate and monitor the Building Management System (BMS) and troubleshoot as needed
  • Recommend and implement enhancements to streamline maintenance activities and reduce operating costs.
  • Support sustainability and energy-efficiency initiatives through hands-on work and systems optimization.
  • Preventive Maintenance
  • Develop, schedule, and personally carry out preventive maintenance for HVAC and other building equipment
  • Maintain accurate logs and documentation for all PM activities.
  • Conduct routine inspections of the entire building and take corrective actions to any issues identified.
  • Vendor Coordination & Oversight
  • Act as primary on-site technical point of contact when service of external vendors are needed
  • Determine when repair work can be completed internally versus when a vendor is required.
  • Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Correct any safety issues/hazards immediately
  • HR & Administrative Event Support
  • Collaborate with HR and site administrators to support various employee events – picnic, meetings, etc
  • Facilitate office/cubicle moves
  • Print Employee ID Badges

  • The salary range for this role is $75,000- $125,000 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
