About The Position

Under the direction and supervision of the Trades Supervisor, the Facility Maintenance II Mechanical Systems-Aquatics is responsible for providing the technical experience necessary to effectively, efficiently and safely operate one of our summer seasons most visited facilities, Hidden Creek Aqua Park. Additionally, this position will support year-round operations at the Park Fitness indoor pool, pump maintenance for all systems within the Park District as well as general maintenance as assigned throughout the year.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and at least one (1) year or less of technical school or a minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience as a pool operator and technical training on mechanical systems including water filtration, pump and motor operation.
  • American Red Cross CPR/AED Certification
  • Valid Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Pool Operator or Aquatics Facility Operator Certification preferred with ability to obtain within 6 months

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the maintenance, operations, and repairs of our Aquatic Center systems, park amenities, and infrastructure.
  • Monitors and maintains essential mechanical systems including pool filtration and chlorination systems, pumps, motors, sewers, and lift stations, and related infrastructure throughout the District.
  • Ensures all facilities and infrastructure meet safety and operational standards while supporting a high-quality experience for all Park and Aquatic Center visitors.
  • Utilize work order system on IPAD tablet to track and document all maintenance, inspections and repairs.
  • Handles all miscellaneous maintenance work orders as assigned by supervisor.
  • Assist with general maintenance tasks throughout the district as work time allows.
  • Maintain all equipment and hand tools used.
  • Attend seminars and trainings for compliance, safety and professional growth.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
