Essential Functions: Technical skills to install, maintain, or troubleshoot electrical equipment safely and must demonstrate knowledge of electrical safety practices, hazard recognition, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Routinely inspecting electrical systems such as wiring, fixtures, and appliances. Identifying faults or hazards. Troubleshooting system failures. Installation & Repair: Installing new electrical components, running conduit, wiring, and repairing or replacing malfunctioning electrical apparatus. Preventive Maintenance (PM): Conducting regular inspections of electrical systems—including generators, transformers, lighting, and circuit breakers—to prevent failures. Troubleshooting: Diagnosing issues in electrical circuits and systems using testing equipment like multimeters, ammeters, and thermal imaging cameras. Safety Compliance: Ensuring all electrical work adheres to NEC, local building codes, and company safety protocols. Documentation: Maintaining accurate logs of maintenance activities, repairs, and updating technical documentation in Maintenance Management Systems (Maintain X). Facility Support: Assisting with general maintenance tasks such as HVAC systems, lighting, and emergency power systems. Other Important Details about the Role: Buss duct replacements, arch flash trained, running power 24V-480V, running conduit work, electrical panel replacements, also supporting our day-to-day electrical needs. Lockout/tagout procedures are mandatory. Work alongside a lesser-skilled technician. In this case, the employee needs to take care that the lesser-skilled technician is working safely and correctly. Assist the new co-worker with the task at hand. Employee operates as a member of the team, but not as a lead.

Requirements

  • NFPA 70E certification required
  • High school diploma or GED; technical school training or apprenticeship is highly preferred
  • Valid journeyman electrician license or equivalent qualification
  • Proven work experience as a maintenance electrician, preferably in an industrial or commercial setting
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, ability to read blueprints/schematics, and solid problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work in tight spaces, lift heavy equipment, and stand for long periods

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Self-starter requiring a minimum of supervision and direction
