Job Title Facilities Engineering Co-op We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented engineering co-op to support our facility team in ceramics manufacturing. This role offers hands-on experience in both facility management and process engineering, with a focus on optimizing ceramic production processes, improving equipment reliability, and supporting Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Actively pursuing a 4-year degree or master's degree in industrial, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write clear reports.
  • Organizational expertise and effective team building/conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Not required, but prior internship experience is a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Support maintenance planning and reliability engineering for critical manufacturing equipment.
  • Help maintain facility documentation, including equipment layouts, utility drawings, and maintenance records using AutoCAD.
  • Develop and implement predictive, preventive, and reliability-centered maintenance programs for facility systems.
  • Participate in facility upgrades, including HVAC, compressed air, dust collection, and facility cooling systems.
  • Coordinate facilities project activities with other departments; prepare data and documentation for governmental or customer inquiries and audits.
  • Contribute to Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives, including Autonomous Maintenance, Planned Maintenance, and Focused Improvement.
  • Assist in developing and updating equipment, maintenance checklists and visual controls.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for equipment failures and process deviations.
  • Help facilitate cross-functional TPM teams and contribute to continuous improvement workshops.
