About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of mechanical plant systems within the facility. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining both critical and non-critical systems across multiple trades. The technician works within established skill levels, follows technical documentation, and communicates clearly with leadership to support operational excellence and safety readiness. Requirements

  • Coursework/Training: Must have successfully completed at least one formal specialized, related training course
  • 2 years experience in equipment inspection, testing, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of all required systems and equipment
  • A background in the use of common and sophisticated tools and systems

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, install, and repair critical and non-critical mechanical plant systems and equipment within assigned skill levels.
  • Maintain and service systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, medical gas, fire and life safety, and other specialized facility equipment.
  • Complete repairs and installations by accurately interpreting diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on plant systems, ensuring proper documentation of work performed.
  • Identify, document, and communicate critical observations, system conditions, and status updates clearly and concisely to the department management team.
  • Operate within defined skill levels and work under supervision when appropriate.
  • Participate in and demonstrate the ability to perform Code Red drills in accordance with facility safety requirements.
