BFB Facilities Director (Full-Time, Salary Exempt)

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in facilities management or a related field, or a minimum of three years of facilities management experience or a closely related discipline.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general maintenance practices required, along with strong project management skills.
- Must obtain CPO certification within 120 days of employment and CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications within 30 days.
- A valid driver’s license and driving record that meets YMCA standards are required.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with individuals from diverse social and economic backgrounds.
Nice To Haves
- Three or more years of facilities management experience or related building operations experience
- Supervisory or leadership experience
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Ability to respond to facility issues and emergencies as needed
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification, or willingness to obtain
Responsibilities
- Oversee all facility maintenance, custodial services, and preventive maintenance programs
- Ensure repairs and facility projects are completed efficiently and to high standards
- Manage contractors and vendors working in the building and on YMCA grounds
- Recruit, hire, schedule, and lead facilities staff
- Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback
- Build a strong team culture focused on safety, service, and accountability
- Maintain the highest safety standards for staff and members
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and all local, state, and federal regulations
- Work with fire, health, and building departments as needed
- Ensure proper operation and safety of pool systems, including chemical and filtration management
- Maintain a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification
- Ensure YMCA vehicles and equipment are maintained and used properly
- Oversee lawn care, snow removal, and ice control
- Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment parts
- Conduct weekly facility inspections and prioritize maintenance needs
- Manage facility-related expenses responsibly within the branch budget
- Collaborate with other YMCA branches when needed
- Participate in branch and association meetings
