About The Position

The Facilities and Transportation Specialist is responsible for ensuring the safe, clean, compliant, and well-maintained operation of multiple locations. This role oversees daily facility operations, supervises janitorial staff, coordinates and performs basic facility maintenance and repairs, manages transportation and meal delivery services, and ensures compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. The position requires strong organizational and time management skills, hands-on maintenance capability, and the ability to manage multiple sites efficiently.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Driver’s License (Requires access to personal vehicle that is insured for purposes of delivery when agency owned vehicle is not available. Must provide proof of insurance twice a year.)
  • Requires occasional check of driving history to assure good driving

Nice To Haves

  • prior supervisory experience preferred but not required
  • Bi-lingual (fluent written and verbal)

Responsibilities

  • Transportation & Bus Services Coordinate maintenance, registration, cleanliness, and compliance of agency-owned vehicles
  • Plan and implement bus routes in collaboration with program leadership
  • Serve as liaison with contracted transportation providers and drivers
  • Monitor transportation compliance, conduct route observations, and support driver scheduling
  • Provide transportation-related training and ensure field trip transportation compliance
  • Facilities Maintenance Serve as primary contact for facility issues and emergencies
  • Coordinate repairs, inspections, and maintenance with vendors and contractors
  • Perform or coordinate basic maintenance (plumbing, electrical, painting, hardware, furniture, and grounds upkeep)
  • Track repairs and communicate maintenance updates with Center Directors
  • Supervision & Janitorial Services Directly supervise janitorial staff across multiple locations
  • Schedule coverage, monitor cleaning standards, and conduct deep cleaning as needed
  • Manage janitorial supplies, equipment, and safety of cleaning operations
  • Conduct performance evaluations, team meetings, and staff support
  • Compliance & Safety Conduct routine safety, sanitation, and facility compliance inspections
  • Support compliance with OSHA, fire safety, food safety, licensing, and accessibility requirements
  • Assist with inspections, corrective action plans, and promote a culture of safety
  • Center Delivery & Logistics Deliver mail, meals, supplies, and maintenance items to all centers
  • Transport lunches and other materials safely and on schedule
  • Support additional delivery needs as requested by leadership
  • Recordkeeping & Reporting Maintain accurate transportation, maintenance, and safety records
  • Complete required reports, drills, and documentation on a monthly basis
  • Communication & Work Practices Communicate regularly with supervisors, leadership, and center staff

  • Participate in trainings, meetings, and continuous professional development
  • MARGINAL FUNCTIONS Perform other assignments as requested by supervisory staff
