About The Position

We are looking for a skilled fabrication technician who will be responsible for operating and maintaining equipment. You must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions. In this position, you will be expected to work efficiently and quickly to meet production targets while maintaining high-quality standards. Bitzer Us Inc. is a leading manufacturer of key components used in commercial and industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems, including compressors, pressure vessels such as condensers and evaporators, compressor packages, and condensing units. Requirements

  • Competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions.
  • Ability to read blueprints and/or drawings in addition to reading measurements.
  • Must be able to operate heavy machinery such as water jet, plasma table, pipe cutter, press brake, band saw, and sandblast booth.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds including moving parts/boxes from floor, shelves, pallets, and carts.
  • Ability to effectively move around on your feet for up to 100% of the designated shift time.
  • Un-restricted mobility including twisting, pulling, bending over, reaching, walking, standing, hand movement, lifting of trash cans, hoppers, buckets, boxes, and other items.
  • Communicate successfully (written/verbal) with coworkers.
  • Ensure successful/clear written paperwork and traveler documents.
  • Ability to read drawings and understand drawings as well as digital gauges.
  • Work in a Production type environment where individual output is critical and measured.
  • Must be able to use hand tools, grinders, pneumatic tools, overhead cranes, pallet jacks, and measuring tools.

Responsibilities

  • Performing tasks as directed by the supervisor.
  • Ensure that products are correct to blueprint to meet quality standards.
  • Keeping a clean and organized work area, adhering to, and improving upon 5S standards.
  • Reporting any issues or problems to the supervisor.
  • Meeting production targets and deadlines.
  • Working collaboratively with other team members.
  • Following all safety protocols and wearing all appropriate PPE.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and cleaning of equipment (hand tools, machines, workstations, etc.).
