About The Position

A fabrication technician position working hands-on with precision glass components used in high-speed communication systems. The role requires wedging, grinding, and polishing glass optics to exact specifications.

Experience with networked PC based computer systems.
Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
Minium of 2 years working in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably in the Telecom Industry.
Demonstrates a strong understanding of the critical importance of optical flatness in the polishing and grinding of telecom wafers and coupons.
Strong ability to work independently and manage priorities in a production environment.
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Demonstrates a strong understanding of the critical importance of optical flatness in the polishing and grinding of telecom wafers and coupons.
Inspect and prepare raw optical wafers
Verify material specifications and cleanliness before processing optical glass
Operate precision grinding equipment to thin wafers to required tolerances.
Select appropriate grinding compounds, pads, and tooling based on material type
Perform fine polishing to achieve required surface finish and flatness
