About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA ) is currently seeking a Fabrication Team Lead to join our AFT Body composite fabrication team in North Charleston, South Carolina on Variable shift. The Team Lead will perform tasks in the following areas: pre-shift planning, crew meetings, team status updates, labor loss, production control, training, process improvement and Lean/BPS (Boeing Production System). The candidate must maintain all necessary certifications to perform the job. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at North Charleston, SC (BSC)

Requirements

  • 3+ years of aerospace, fabrication, or manufacturing experience
  • 3+ years of formal or informal leadership experience
  • 3+ years of experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications
  • 1+ years of experience with 787 Operations
  • Ability to work variable shift, with the understanding that your shift will not be confirmed until after training

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience leading a team
  • 3+ years of experience using Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • 2+ years of experience in CMES

Responsibilities

  • Identifies KPI improvement actions
  • Performs machine set-up, machining for fabrication tasks
  • Performs composite lay-up, fabrication and assembly tasks
  • Works on complex components and systems using established drawings and requirements
  • Able to work pre and post shift overtime as required to assess status of build, assign daily work, cover for labor loss
  • Leads team in daily safety check-in
  • Monitors and reports daily progress to plan
  • Works with support organizations and First Line Leader to mitigate performance risk
  • Documents and communicates shift turnover
  • Establishes overtime requirements and staffing.
  • Responsible for monitoring and controlling FOD, 5S and Tools
  • Create standardized work instructions
  • Support teammates to improve their job performance including identifying training
  • Responsible for BPS process improvements
  • Leads Kamishibai audits and Gemba walks
  • Exhibits Boeing Values and Behaviors
  • Must maintain all necessary certifications to perform the job

  • Summary Pay Range: $61,200-$64,500
