Your Role at Baxter This is where my hands make life-sustaining products As a Team Lead, you play a key role in helping Baxter save and sustain lives. You’ll lead people, guide daily production activities, and keep processes running smoothly within your assigned value stream. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you support your team on the floor, remove roadblocks, and help ensure hospital products are made safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Your Team You’ll lead and support a team of manufacturing associates within a value stream focused on producing high‑quality hospital products. You’ll work closely with Production Supervisors, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to solve problems, improve processes, and keep production moving safely and efficiently. This team values collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement—and relies on strong leadership on the floor to succeed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 3 years of manufacturing experience, with demonstrated leadership skills
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions, drawings, safety rules, and quality standards
  • Basic math skills and working knowledge of CNC equipment
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
  • Willingness and ability to obtain: Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) certification and Inspector certification
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Normal vision and ability to distinguish colors
  • Ability to squat, kneel, climb, reach, bend, twist, and balance throughout the shift
  • Ability to pass required PIV and other job‑related physicals
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for an employer in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with JD Edwards and/or Agile
  • Familiarity with enterprise manufacturing systems (e.g., POMS, Maximo)
  • Strong fabrication background

Responsibilities

  • Set up production lines for smooth start‑ups and steady operation
  • Step in to perform production work when needed to support staffing and output
  • Monitor staffing throughout the shift and call out gaps or concerns promptly
  • Adjust team assignments to keep work flowing safely and efficiently
  • Communicate shift‑to‑shift issues related to machines, materials, or performance
  • Edit and program CNC equipment including lathes, mills, tube benders, lasers, and other fabrication machinery
  • Participate in lean initiatives, value stream activities, safety projects, and defect prevention efforts
  • Lead or advance troubleshooting with Quality and Maintenance to find true root causes
  • Identify process inefficiencies and assist with corrective actions
  • Support in‑process repairs and product disposition, including reviewing and approving NCMRs
  • Stop production when necessary to protect quality or safety
  • Partner with the supervisor to manage vacation schedules and plan coverage
  • Help train team members and update job instructions as processes change
  • Create and maintain a safe work environment by reinforcing safety rules, using 6S principles, and leading regular safety and Gemba walks
  • Lead tier meetings focused on safety, quality, and production performance
  • Take quick and appropriate action when safety, quality, or equipment issues occur, following SOPs
  • Apply and enforce cGMPs, quality standards, and standard operating procedures
