The Machine Operator – Operations I/II/III will review work instructions, build product per specifications and within tolerances, complete all clean-up and housekeeping procedures, and comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations, including wearing all appropriate PPE.

Requirements

  • High school Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • 3+ years of experience operating relevant machinery or equivalent
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Work in a team environment in a professional manner
  • Effectively communicate
  • Utilize applicable hand tools with precision

Responsibilities

  • Proficiently operate basic machinery independently at a defined rate with proper quality
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the products they assemble and how they impact the business
  • Continuous learning of the principles, practices, and processes of their job as changes require and similar jobs
  • Safely handle materials utilizing proper lifting techniques, including overhead hoists/lift tables
  • Communicate hazards and/or equipment issues with leadership
  • Occasionally provide basic training to employees as needed
  • Cross train in different areas within the department and flex to different stations as needed
  • Operate complex machinery independently (minimum of 50% stations) at defined rate with proper quality
  • Frequently provide training to employees on work instructions/standard work
  • Operate all machinery, including advanced machinery, independently at a defined rate with proper quality
  • Solve problems independently within designated authority level
  • Suggest and implement improvements to existing equipment and/or designs to improve safety, quality, delivery and productivity
  • Provide training to advance machinery within the department
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and product nonconformances
  • May preform lead responsibilities as needed
