About The Position

The Extruder Lead is responsible for operating machines and material handling equipment around extruders to ensure efficient operations, optimal quality and performance, and adherence to safety standards. This role involves operating all related extrusion equipment, including loading and unloading raw materials and fabrics. The lead will inspect products for quality defects, collaborate with QA to meet control standards, and maintain accurate production records, including data entry into Manufacturing Operating Systems. Additionally, the Extruder Lead is expected to maintain a clean work area, follow all safety policies, assist other line operators, and operate all extruder functions in the absence of the Extruder Team Leader. Adherence to ISO 9001 and ISO 14000 requirements is also a key aspect of the position. Requirements

  • Must be able to read and understand English
  • Must have good communications and collaborative skills
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Must be able to use standard ruler and metric system

Responsibilities

  • Operate machines and material handling in and around the extruders in order to maintain the efficient operations while ensuring quality and performance requirements are optimized and are consistent with specified requirements and committed to workplace safety.
  • Operate all related extrusion equipment.
  • Load and unload the machine with all raw materials/fabrics.
  • Inspect product and record any quality defects while working closely with QA to ensure quality control standards are met.
  • Record keeping of all related production data and outputs which includes data entry into the Manufacturing Operating Systems.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and abide by all safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist the other line operators as needed.
  • Operate all functions of the extruder in absence of the Extruder Team Leader.
  • Adhere to all practices, policies and procedures according to ISO 9001 and ISO 14000 requirements.
