About The Position
The Extraction Lab Technician will support the extraction and processing facility in Marshall, MI for Highway Horticulture. The facility houses our own hydrocarbon and ice water cannabis extraction process for distillate and dabbables as well as extraction processes for our partners. This position will operate and maintain equipment for the extraction of cannabis, distillation of cannabis extracts, refinement of concentrate products, packaging of concentrates, and production of cartridges for rosin and resin products.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Experience working under FDA regulations, ISO, HACCP and GMP requirements
- Experience with hazardous chemicals, HAZWOPER certification a bonus
Nice To Haves
- Experience with BZB hydrocarbon extraction skids, preferred but not required
- Experience with short path distillation, preferred but not required
- Experience with ice water extraction, preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Filling of biomass socks, whipping of concentrate batches, and pouring/weighing of concentrates
- Operate BZB equipment
- Operate short path distillation equipment
- Operate the ice water extraction equipment
- Operate the kief packing and pressing equipment
- Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols
- Safely operate with liquid Nitrogen, liquid Carbon Dioxide, and butane/propane mixes
- Follow Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices
- Perform routine cleaning on equipment, extraction room, and distillation room
- Proper disposal of waste and handling of inventory records for byproducts
- Complete batch logs, cleaning records, and packaging logs for all products
