About The Position

The Externship Coordinator for the LMRT Program plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful placement of students into externship sites, fostering professional growth, and maintaining compliance with organizational and accreditation standards. Reporting directly to the Campus President, this position is integral to the operational success of the program and the career development of students. In this role, the Externship Coordinator will: Strategically recruit, develop, and monitor externship sites to align with program needs and organizational goals. Market the LMRT program to the medical community, establishing strong partnerships and expanding the network of externship opportunities. Ensure that 40% of externship sites hire students post-program, driving measurable outcomes and enhancing stakeholder value. Serve as a liaison between students, faculty, and externship organizations, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration. Provide career development support to students, including resume preparation, professionalism training, and interview coaching. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Certifications Required: ARRT, RT, LMRT.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain federal, state, and accreditation compliance to ensure program integrity.
  • Ensure organizational metrics are met, including the requirement that 40% of externs are hired by their respective sites.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with TWC and accreditation regulations regarding student records, site evaluations, time cards, surveys, and other documentation.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of state, federal, and accrediting board standards related to externships, ensuring adherence to all rules and regulations.
  • Recruit and maintain externship sites, actively marketing the program to the medical community and fostering public relations.
  • Ensure sufficient openings are available at externship sites to meet student placement needs.
  • Achieve company-designated metrics for the development of new externship sites.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between students, faculty, and externship organizations, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with the Placement Coordinator to assist students in securing employment post-graduation.
  • Counsel students who fail to attend externships as scheduled and track their progress.
  • Ensure students complete final exit requirements after completing their externship.
  • Provide students with career development support, including professionalism training, resume preparation, and interview skills coaching.
  • Update and maintain affiliation agreements with externship sites.
  • Monitor, track, and provide feedback on student timesheets and attendance records.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records in CampusVue and other systems.
  • Arrange and conduct externship orientation sessions prior to student placement.
  • Conduct weekly site visits to ensure compliance and address any issues.
  • Participate in staff meetings and student orientation sessions as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Career Services Director or Campus President.
