About The Position
Support programs that strengthen agriculture, horticulture, natural resources, and forestry across Utah. This internship provides hands-on experience assisting with research-based education and outreach, connecting university knowledge with real-world applications for producers, land managers, and communities. Responsibilities
- Contribute to the coordination and implementation of Iron County Master Gardener programs, including event support and volunteer engagement.
- Assist with the collection, organization, and basic analysis of horticultural research data to support four different new and ongoing projects.
- Support the maintenance and management of research plots and demonstration gardens, including those used for the Iron County Junior Master Gardener program and county Water Wise Demonstration Garden.
- Develop practical skills in plant diagnostics by helping identify plant health issues and contributing to public diagnostic services during the weekly plant diagnostics lab.
- Plan and deliver hands-on educational activities and lessons for youth participating in the Junior Master Gardener program and horticulture summer camps.
