About The Position

Woburn Public Schools Extended School Year Physical Therapist DEFINITION: The Extended Year Program Physical Therapist is an employee member of the school staff designated by the Superintendent of Schools. The purpose of this position is to assist the Director of Student Services and Coordinators in all duties necessary for the proper and efficient operation of the Woburn Public Schools Extended School Year Program. Under the supervision of the Director of Student Services, the Physical Therapist will provide instruction in the district extended school year program.

Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
Minimum: Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education certification as necessary per related field (PT)

Responsibilities

Attend an orientation meeting prior to the start of ESY in June 2026
Review therapy roster; send personalized letter providing contact information and therapy schedule prior to the start of ESY (for students receiving services only)
Review folder for each ESY student including IEP and progress reports prior to the start of ESY.
Take session attendance and provide communication with families as necessary for the duration of the ESY program.
Review IEP and verify each student’s ESY therapy schedule is compliant.
Prepare session/therapy plans in conjunction with individualized student IEP goals at the start of each week.
Create a schedule and communicate service times to classroom teachers prior to the start of ESY.
Provide comprehensive instruction/therapy individualized to the needs of each student.
Provide consultation as necessary to ESY Staff.
Collect data in conjunction with student IEP goals.
Compile data and prepare ESY summary notes due on July 30, 2026.
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools, Assistant Superintendents and/or the Director of Student Services.
