Extended Coverage Operations Manager

About The Position

Extended Coverage Operations Manager must be able to make good judgments without the benefit of others immediate counsel and must be exceptional documenters. They must be able to perform their duties autonomously. Additional Responsibilities- Improve the business processes for the department through analysis and collaboration Get involved in Long-Term business planning at the managerial level Collaborate with department manager to develop performance, execution, and growth plans Analyze the performance of the department, make recommendations to improve, and implement said improvements Develop, manage and assist with the day to day functions on extended coverage which include the following: Track all expeditated freight, Amazon, TJ Max and Fed Ex. Scrub sheets to ensure on time delivery and on time pick up. Assist in dispatching local drivers, taking phone calls from drivers assisting with loads. Ensuring call volume is low- Phone is answered within 3-4 rings and no waits over 5-minutes. Repowering loads- Ensuring loads are built correctly in the TWM system. Facilitate and get empty trailers dropped at our customers that need them and are requesting them. Help other team members with their questions and assisting with problem solving on the fly. Prepare and handoff all notes and load information to Day Extended Coverage Team. Act as responsible individual for department with regards to service & safety performance Implement strategy to improve/build upon both regional and OTR solo network strategies

Requirements

3+ years’ experience in transportation sector
5+ years’ experience in leadership role
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Effective decision-making skills
Experience writing business plans
Intermediate user ability for Microsoft Excel
Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
knowledge of TMW Database software, Microsoft Excel and Outlook knowledge.
