About The Position

At Farmers Mutual Hail (FMH), our mission is simple: protect the livelihoods and legacies of America’s farmers through the complete farm insurance solutions we offer. FMH is seeking an experienced Network Administrator to add to the team. This individual will maintain internal server and network infrastructure by installing, configuring, and troubleshooting computer networks, servers, and associated assemblies. The perfect candidate is self-motivated and driven to identify, research and solve issues.

Requirements

  • Experience: At least 3 years of network administration experience.
  • Education: Associate’s degree in Information Technology or related field required. (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Skills: Must be proficient with Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Office 365, VMware, NetApp, Cisco ACI, Nexus / Catalyst switching and Secure Access solutions. Experience supporting Windows Server, Linux environments, Windows Desktop utilizing Omnissa VDI services. Working knowledge of Automox, PDQ Deploy, PowerShell or other scripting a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes information to determine, recommend, and plan layout for server and network infrastructure that will provide capability for proposed project or workload, efficient operation, and effective use of allotted space.
  • Trains users to use new or modified equipment.
  • Assembles and configures network components and associated services.
  • Reads technical manuals to learn correct settings for equipment.
  • Provides network assistance to users, including help with network connections and passwords.
  • Manages setup and maintenance of intranets related to system administration functions.
  • Meets with groups to allocate server resources and install new servers.
  • Installs and maintains local area network hardware and software, including servers, peripherals, network nodes, terminals, and wiring.
  • Communicates and coordinates network schedule, back-ups, and downtime to users.
  • Coordinates third-party maintenance for network hardware, software, and telecommunications services.
  • Prepares and maintains documentation for network configurations and cabling layouts.
  • Monitors functioning of equipment to ensure systems operate in conformance with specifications.
  • Installs, upgrades, and configures network printing, directory structures, rights, security, software, and files services.
