About The Position

As an Expeditor, you will expedite orders to ensure complete customer satisfaction. You will work closely with the marketing and order entry teams to ensure a high level of customer service and to support all aspects of order fulfillment.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma
  • Three to five years of previous order processing/expediting experience.
  • Ability to use a computer and applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to focus and respond promptly to customers' needs.
  • Accurate data entry skills.
  • Ability to read and understand daily reports.
  • Self-motivation skills

  • College courses or degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and organize an abundance of expedited requests and help determine if customer delivery dates can be met.
  • Actively and efficiently communicate expedited information with plant schedulers and the shipping department to meet order expectations and on-time deliveries.
  • Communicates lead time information and updates appropriately with Customer Service and Sales team.
  • Updates MTO Codes and lead time information within Members Only.
  • Ensure rush orders are processed through the order entry system and expedited for a timely delivery. Prepare multiple rush lists daily.
  • Continuously monitor expedited and one ship orders to confirm all orders are on schedule. Provide follow-up to plant schedulers, the shipping department, and customers with any changes.
  • Anticipate scheduling conflicts and help create blanket order partial shipment schedules.
  • Identify and resolve allocation problems quickly. Use critical thinking skills to understand reports, project details, and customer relations to initiate appropriate action with other personnel to improve the delivery schedule of orders.
  • Diligently review the impact of supply chain constraints to understand all products impacted by delays.
  • Utilize project management skills such as leadership, communication, scheduling, and risk management assessment to manage the workload and to meet customer expectations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while multitasking various requests for expedites, lead times, and order status.
  • Provide special order handling for key accounts.
  • Assist customers/representatives with routine price and delivery questions, along with general product questions.
  • Provide backup assistance on phone coverage as needed.
  • Capable of creating Excel open order reports to distribute as needed.
  • Primary backup for processing RGA requests.
  • Work with carriers on proof-of-deliveries and to track down lost shipments. Forward proper paperwork to the customer or have the freight claim processed, if necessary.
  • Perform additional duties, as needed, or directed, to ensure a high level of customer service.
