We are looking for an enthusiastic Expeditor to join our team!  You’ll be part of a talented group that collaborates to deliver world-class products to our customers. The Expeditor understands the flow of production and the tasks required to be completed in order to ensure that jobs keep moving effectively, and that the product is moved quickly from one production area to the next with minimal wait time. In this role, you will ensure that all facets of the order are being processed in a timely basis. ie; jobs to production, pick tickets issued if needed for materials to be staged, and/or purchase orders issued for materials where inventory is too low to meet customer demand. The expeditor may work on multiple orders at one time going back and forth between orders. After orders are completed, the Expeditor also ensures orders are inspected by Quality Control Specialists prior to shipment, and then takes orders to the shipping department and ensures orders leave the shipping area for delivery to customers. Shifts available: Monday - Wednesday 6:00am - 6:00pm (36-hour work week - three 12-hour shifts with a rotating schedule every 4 months. Overtime Eligible.)

Requirements

  • High school degree, GED, or equivalent work experience required
  • be efficient at multitasking, ensuring multiple complicated projects are being supported
  • have strong attention to detail and have a high level of accuracy
  • quickly adapt to changing priorities; ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.  Strong interpersonal skills including, demonstrated listening skills and the ability to present ideas and thoughts concisely and effectively both internally and outside the organization

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience in a production environment (preferred)
  • a background in lean thinking principles (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • work closely with the Bindery Team Lead to ensure the next jobs are aligned for the operators to meet production needs
  • direct raw materials for needs and resources in the department
  • communicate effectively with the production team (print, coating, cutting, finishing, kitting and shipping) to ensure jobs are on the move and have been received appropriately
  • accurately scan jobs to precise locations within the production floor
  • move product to appropriate department for tasks to be completed
  • learn and understand the flow of production to keep jobs moving effectively, ensuring that all products are moved to the next task in a timely manner
  • adapt and prioritize job movement based on production needs
  • confirm the appropriate Production Lead and area has the order and follows up with each department to ensure timely processing
  • pull raw material to expedite order and stage materials to reduce wait time from one production area to the next, may also have to call vendors or suppliers to expedite material needed to complete the order
  • communicate realistic delivery capabilities to customer service rep (CSR) on a periodic basis
  • multi-task on multiple orders at the same time
  • collaborate with Quality Control Specialists to ensure inspection and documentation is in accordance to TBG standards
  • communicate with shipping staff to ensure proper packing and/or (packaging of products)
  • ensure paperwork and system entry into Pace and Collaterate is complete and accurate
  • track all orders to compare to delivery goals and objectives
  • complete projects and various tasks as requested by management
