About The Position
The Exercise Physiologist in the Inpatient Cardiac Rehab setting works as an integral part to manage functional improvements in the patient’s recovery. Providing professional exercise guidance and cardio/pulmonary risk factor modification, with individualized patient centered care that optimizes health and wellbeing, enhances quality of life and minimizes risk of recurrent cardio/pulmonary events that lead to readmission, poor outcomes, and increased health care costs. Phase I Cardiac Rehab provides Pre Op education, Progressive Ambulation, Lifestyle Modification, Goal Setting, Smoking Cessation, Diet Education, Phase II Referral, and Discharge Education to a very diverse patient population -Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery, Valve Replace/Repair, Percutaneous Intervention,Myocardial Infarction, Heart Failure, Left Ventricular Assist Device, VideoAssisted and Open Thoracotomy, Peripheral Artery and Vascular Disease,Structural Heart, Pectus Excavatum, Heart Transplant
