About The Position

Exercise Physiologist Part Time I First Shift (730-1600) Cardiovascular Rehab I Lexington, KY The Noninvasive Lab is a specialized department within a healthcare facility dedicated to performing diagnostic tests and supporting improved quality of life for patients. This unit, composed of registered nurses, nuclear medicine technicians, sonographers, and exercise physiologists, provides high-quality care to assist physicians in diagnosing, managing, and treating cardiovascular conditions. Additionally, our Cardiac Rehab program helps patients recover and improve their heart health following a cardiac event. Description: Exercise physiologists will work with patients in Cardiac Rehab, assessing fitness level and needs of patients. In addition, the performance of exercise testing, development of exercise prescriptions, protocols, and exercise programs. He/she will provide advice in the selection, maintenance and use of exercise equipment as well as educate personnel in exercise concepts and equipment use. Additional responsibilities include developing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating planned programs and services designed to address identified health risk behaviors and needs related to physical activity across the lifecycle. Serves as an exercise and fitness resource to the Cardiac Rehab and the community. Able to perform on-going assessments of patients. Formulates plans of care, implements appropriate cardiac pathways. Coordinates and performs patient/family teaching. Initiates timely communication with physicians, patients, families, social services, and other departments according to policy. Provides psychosocial support and communication to patients and family. Coordinates activities with other health team members

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • No Experience Required
  • Must obtain BLS within 30 days
  • Must obtain ACLS within 1 year

Responsibilities
