About The Position

As an Exercise Physiologist, you will be responsible for providing physical conditioning, reconditioning, risk factor reduction and education through exercise prescription, supervised exercise, and educational programs in Cardiac Rehabilitation. You will work independently and/or in conjunction with other cardiac rehabilitation team members under the direction of a registered nurse to provide an individualized program tailored to each patient's particular needs.

Requirements

  • Minimum education Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, or Exercise Science related degree
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Current Advance Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification - preferred
  • Eligibility to apply for and attain American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Exercise Specialist certification - preferred

  • Current Advance Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Eligibility to apply for and attain American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Exercise Specialist certification

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the overall health of patients, with special attention to cardiovascular function and metabolism
  • Administer exercise stress tests and other evaluation tools
  • Develop individualized exercise prescriptions to increase physical fitness, strength, endurance and flexibility
  • Reevaluate patients' progress during their medically supervised cardiac rehabilitation
  • Assist with setting up the exercise room, equipment and supplies
  • Assist with cleaning and sanitizing exercise room and equipment
